CLEAN BRIGHTNESS & DRIED-FRUIT SWEETNESS
Coffees from Burundi are known for their bright acidity and complex flavor profiles. Expect notes of sweet dried fruit, like apricots or cherries, mingling with subtle floral hints. Fans of our recent Rwandan coffee will find a familiar brightness and fruit-forward character but with a touch more body. The bright acidity will cut through the sweetness for a refreshing cold brew, and a pour-over on a Chemex will allow the full range of flavors to shine through, delivering a clean and nuanced cup.
This coffee comes to us from a group of 400 small farmers in Teka Hill, Burundi. These specialty farmers grow at Burundi's highest elevation, contributing to the coffee's lovely brightness. A washing station was founded here in 1987 on the hill where King Mweze IV Gisabo lived before German colonization, and this is where all the farmers from the region process their coffee.
